Facebook On Phishing Scam Attack

Facebook has always been a target of PHISHING SCAMS, this is because it is so popular with multitude number of users. More users means more possible victims unwittingly broadcasting their vital information and personal details to cyber-criminals.

Fake websites whose almost identical to the original website are created attempting to fool users to enter details like credit card numbers, validation numbers, email passwords, user accounts and other important information.

It is hard to detect a Phishing website if it is well created and free from coding errors that can raise doubts to users once spotted. Some popular websites are not also equipped with anti-phishing security measures. Misspelled URLs or the use of subdomains are common tricks used by phishers. Phishing emails can also be sent to fool users saying that the websites made some security measures and user name and passwords need to re-entered or change. So public awareness that opening emails from unknown email sender or spam emails should be opened with caution and avoid opening document attachments or click the links provided in the phishing email.
