How to recover a wet cell phone as soon as possible
It’s not being wet that kills a cell phone, save a wet cell phone by turning it of as soon as possible. Then follow this simple steps.

1. Take out the Battery. Removing the battery as soon as you accidentally dropped your cell phone in water. This will avoid causing more damage on the unit.
2. Don’t press that On and Off button! If you followed step 1 obviously your electronic gadget will not turn on avoiding short circuit and causing more damage.
3. Remove that precious SIM card. Slowly wipe it with a dry clean cloth or cotton ball. Remove any covers and external connectors to open up as many gaps, slots, and crevices in the phone as possible.
4. Wipe dripping water from your cell phone, and shake it a bit to remove water inside the cell phone. Do this also with the battery.
5. Some soak it in alcohol for a second. They say Alcohol is hygroscopic (attracts water), it will dissolve all the water in the phone, which will then pour out of the phone with the alcohol. Any remaining alcohol will evaporate. This is actually true. Even a wet towel will dry faster if soaked or poured with alcohol. But I it is not necessary to soak it, just put some alcohol on a dry clean cloth and slowly wipe all parts of your cell phone. We do not want to ruin your cell phone LCD and warranty stickers. Wipe it again with a clean dry cloth.
6. Let your cell phone dry. This can be done naturally but if you’re really in a hurry try to remove all residual moisture by drawing it away with a vacuum cleaner held over the affected areas for up to 20 minutes.
7. If you’re not in a rush to use your cell phone. Put it in a bag of uncooked rice; make sure it is completely covered.
8. Wait 2 to 3 days.
9. Check for any water or moisture signs, like foggy digital LCD or small amounts of water.
10. If you’re sure it is dry enough, assemble the SIM and battery back to your cell phone. Try if everything goes well. If not, a more professional help is needed, so bring it to a reliable cell phone repair shop.
You can also try saving iPhones, iPods, Laptops, Blackberry and other gadgets with this steps. Good Luck!
