WePad Neofonie Tablet Next Generation Newspaper

If Apple has and iPad, Germany’s Neofonie introduce their own version called WePad. WePad has promising features that iPad lacks. It has 11.6″ display (1366×768), 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, a webcam , (2) USB sockets, a flash card reader, integrated WWAN modem, GMA3150 graphics and a battery that is reported to last 6 hours and built in speakers. Other WePad features includes Flash and Adobe AIR support, multitasking, Bluetooth, WiFi and optional 3G connectivity.
WePad has its mission of replacing the good old newspaper and magazine using Neofonie’s publishing platform called WeMagazine. WePad is also reported to be price much lower that it’s Apple iPad counterpart.
For software developers, they can play around with this new cool gadget because WePad was built around open source technologies, Android and Linux or just use apps that run on other Android gadgets.
